★ ★ ★ ★ ★

“I went to Oaxaca with SOUL/O in February and had a wonderful experience. It was clear from the first night that the itinerary had been thoroughly researched and our needs were considered in every activity (for example, I'm a vegetarian but every meal was tailored for me). Alysha, the founder, was knowledgeable about the area's sights, food, and culture, and took great care to identify guides and translators who could really enhance our experience.

While in Oaxaca, we met artisans (sometimes whole families of artisans!) working in textiles, pottery, mezcal, and more. We learned about their crafts and we're able to engage with them directly, asking any questions we had. It felt good to support them by buying souvenirs and gifts directly from their workshops, which were sometimes also their homes.

Outside of the art and mezcal, we enjoyed an energizing yoga practice by the hotel's gorgeous and atmospheric pool area, and we explored Oaxaca's rugged landscape on a fun hike. There was also time to walk around the city, which is full of great food and culture!

On top of this, I'm grateful to have made new friendships with the other women on my trip. I would recommend a SOUL/O trip to any woman who wants an adventure!”

FAQS

  • You’ll fly into Oaxaca International Airport (OAX), where we will be waiting for you!

  • We recommend getting there no later than 4 p.m. in order to give you enough time to get settled prior to any welcome activities.

  • Each of our trips involves a decent amount of time spent walking, so if you’re comfortable walking and standing for long periods of time, you’ll be more than okay to join us. There will be an optional short hike on the trip. Not for you, no worries! You can relax by the cooling pools and take in the beautiful scenery. Please note Oaxaca’s sidewalks are very uneven.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required when booking. You can either pay in full, or we offer a 3 part payment plan consisting of the deposit and two equal payments prior to the trip. If you’re interested in additional payment plans, email us at hello@soulotravelco.com

  • Alysha Carnell, founder of SOUL/O Travel, will be guiding you each step of the way on these journeys and tours, along with a local host/expert dependent on the travel destination.

  • Our standard pricing is based on shared double rooms. If you are traveling with someone and would like to stay in the same room, let us know, and we’ll place you together. If you’re flying solo, no need to worry, as many of our travelers do! We’ll be in touch before the trip to learn more about you and make sure we find the best fit for a roommate for you. And if you don’t want a roommate, single-room upgrades are available.

Please note: there are a very limited number of single rooms, so please let us know as soon as possible if you’d like this option, and we will do our best to accommodate what you need.

  • Great question! You can read all about what you need to know about travel insurance here.

  • YES! When traveling through customs, you will need to present your passport with your arriving plane ticket. Please be sure that your passport name matches your airline ticket name, or you may be denied boarding.

Please note: Your passport’s expiration date must be at least six months after your return from your trip; if it is not, you should renew your passport. We do recommend checking the country’s travel requirements when visiting a new country, as some countries require more than 2 passport pages to be blank to enter. Please check the country's entry requirements.
